Digital advertising is going to grow a lot in the upcoming years, and we expect Twitter advertising to be at the forefront. As a result, businesses will spend relatively more on digital advertising as opposed to traditional advertising.
According to a recent Forbes article, the digital ad and social media markets will grow over the next five years:
“Twitter is poised to gain a great deal from these trends in the U.S. advertising market. This is because demand for social media advertising is expected to outgrow the broader digital advertising market in the coming years. While the overall digital ad market is estimated to rise at a CAGR of 12.5% during 2014 to 2019, social media ad spending could rise at a CAGR of 18% during the same period (according to Forrester).”
According to the study, social media advertising grow at a faster rate than digital advertising. In fact, one of the reasons why the digital ad market is growing so fast is because of social media.
The difference between social media platforms will become more distinct in the next couple of years. Ads on Twitter aren’t the same as ads on Facebook, and we expect one of the sites to differentiate itself in terms of ad revenue.
Our bet is on Twitter. Facebook plays a crucial role in social media marketing, but businesses haven’t had much success with advertising campaigns. On the other hand, Facebook is great for sharing content and interacting with followers.
Twitter’s newsfeed makes it a better candidate for advertising. The platform already offers several tools and analytics that you can use to effectively target your ads.
Whether on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or all three platforms ,social media advertising will grow over the next five years. You can already get started on your ad campaign today by using social media analytics.
